Oculoplastic
Oculoplastics is a surgical subspecialty of ophthalmology that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect the structures surrounding the eye, such as the eyelids, eyebrows, and orbit. Put more simply, it is ocular plastic surgery.
At Centre Oftalmològic Menorquí we care about understanding your gaze and giving it the importance it deserves, as it is an essential part of each person's unique identity. We offer personalized comprehensive care in which we take care of eye and periocular health cases through surgery and advanced aesthetic medicine.
Oculoplastics are responsible for providing solutions that not only improve the functionality of the eyes, but also enhance the natural beauty of the face.
We understand that each patient is unique and, therefore, we design individualized treatments that ensure safe, effective and harmonious results.
Below, we present in detail the specialized services we offer:
- Challais and eyelid cysts: Chalas and eyelid cysts are common lesions on the eyelids that can cause discomfort and affect the aesthetics of the eye area. We perform the detailed evaluation and appropriate treatment for each case, from conservative approaches to surgical procedures, ensuring the effective removal of these lesions with a quick recovery and excellent aesthetic results.
- Xanthelasma: Xanthelasmas are fatty deposits that form on the eyelids, generating a yellowish and bulging appearance. Our clinic offers xanthelasma removal through safe and effective procedures that minimize the risk of scarring and with a quick recovery. This treatment allows patients to regain the uniformity and aesthetics of the skin around the eyes, improving confidence in their appearance.
- Eyelid tumors: Diagnosis and resection of malignant eyelid lesions by reconstructive eyelid surgery. The most common eyelid dermal tumors are the so-called basal cell carcinomas, but squamous cell carcinomas and even melanomas can also occur in the periocular region.
- Blepharoplasties: Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic and functional surgery that corrects excess skin and fat ("bags") on the eyelids. Not only does this procedure improve the patient's appearance by eliminating the look of tiredness and aging, but it also improves vision in cases where excess skin limits the field of vision. We perform this outpatient surgery with a precise and personalized approach, using minimally invasive techniques with a very short recovery period (one or two weeks), achieving a natural and rejuvenated result, without changing the shape of your look.
- Eyelid malposition surgery: Eyelid malpositions, such as eyelid ptosis (drooping eyelid), ectropion (eyelid outward) and entropion (eyelid inward), can affect both aesthetics and eye function, causing limitation of the visual field, irritation, constant tearing, or recurrent infections. We correct these conditions using precise surgical techniques that restore the normal position of the eyelids, significantly improving the patient's comfort and the appearance of their eyes.

Benefits of Oculoplastics
The treatment of eye conditions using oculoplastics not only improves the patient's facial visual and aesthetic health, but can also have a significant impact on their self-esteem and quality of life. Aesthetic medicine procedures perfectly complement these surgical treatments, offering customized solutions that address both medical and aesthetic concerns. The combination of oculoplastic surgery with facial aesthetic medicine techniques allows patients to achieve a more rejuvenated and healthy appearance, while correcting eye health problems that could affect their vision.
